Trail Building School for Atlantic Canada

October 2020; updated November 2020

Mountain Bike Atlantic and IMBA Canada will be working together to bring the IMBA Canada Trail Building School to trail communities in Atlantic Canada. This exciting new partnership for Canada’s East Coast aims to promote sustainable trail maintenance and building practices and engage new volunteers to get involved with their local cycling club or association.

These presentations will be hosted by local champions and builders from the host cycling community, and supported by Mountain Bike Atlantic’s Project Manager and Community Advocates.

The first Trail Building School presentation took place in Saint John, New Brunswick in October and included an in-classroom workshop in Saint John followed by a field workshop in Rockwood Park. Local Saint John Cycling Trail Miners, Saint John Cycling Executive Committee Members, and Mountain Bike Atlantic Advocates led this workshop. With thanks to sponsorship by Saint John Cycling, and the in-kind contributions from IMBA Canada and Mountain Bike Atlantic, this workshop was available to Saint John Cycling members free of charge.

In the coming months, Mountain Bike Atlantic will be working with other cycling clubs, associations, and municipalities to bring this valuable information to other trail communities in Atlantic Canada.

If you would like to sponsor an IMBA Canada Trail Building School in your trail community, reach out to Mountain Bike Atlantic Project Manager, Sam Bosence, by emailing info@mtbatlantic.com.
